Ixellion has reached a binding agreement with Aeronautical Service’s shareholders for the acquisition of the company and its technologies.

Founded by Chris Bordignon, Aeronautical Service is specialized in R&D, engineering and manufacturing composites and advanced materials, and in developing aerospace technologies serving clients such as Airbus, Leonardo, Siemens Mobility, Damen, Brembo, PFW, Ferrari, Toyota Race.

Thanks to a constant dedication to R&D, the company stands out in the generation of innovative nano-structured composite materials for the production of components with unique High Temperature, EMI Shielding, Micro-Wave Absorbing and Sound Absorbing properties.

Aeronautical Service offers unique customized materials with the characteristics and high-quality requirements typical of the Aerospace and Defense sector. Its technology allows to use composite materials in platforms that could not accept traditional composite, bringing the following benefits: reduction in weight, full fire proofness, recyclability, dramatic reduction of part numbers, systems simplification resulting in maintenance and general cost decrease.

Leveraging on the team’s longstanding experience in the targeted markets, Ixellion will unlock the potential of Aeronautical Service providing a strong platform of technology expertise and network as well as the know-how on industry insights, business models and trends. It will thereby actively support the strategic and operational enhancement of Aeronautical Service’s business across multiple areas, including internationalization. At the same time, through the acquisition, Ixellion will strengthen its portfolio of breakthrough patents, designs and know-how in the field of new materials for the transportation and construction sectors.

The closing of the deal is expected in the second quarter of 2021. Upon completion, Ixellion will be able to take full advantage of Aeronautical Service’s technologies and set up new R&D programs.
